Our English Language Teaching model makes it possible for your first tutoring session to be successful. After the lead teacher presents the lesson, you will guide one to two adult students through fun language-learning activities.
Classes meet three evenings a week. You sign up for the dates that fit your schedule.
Requirements: the desire to learn about people from other cultures, patience and empathy, standard English, the ability to follow instructions, the responsibility to show up on the days you signed up for or CALL us if you have an emergency. Spanish skills are not required.
-- Other Volunteer Opportunities
Assist our instructors and being a mentor to children ages four to twelve in our Children’s Learning Program, where the children of our students and tutors engage in fun reading and math activities.
For those volunteers who have fluent Spanish-speaking skills, consider being a Spanish literacy tutor to Latino immigrant adults who did not have an opportunity to learn to read their first language.
